About

    Ying Yang is a 2D animation student born in Shanghai, China and currently studying at the School of Visual Arts. She specializes in background and prop design, often focusing on small details that make them more in line with the story. Ying also uses 3D tools to support her drawing process and combines digital techniques with hand-drawn sensibilities.

    Her works include the collaborative animation short film WHERE and the independent animation short film Half Awake and Paws and Pans, the fan anthology Two Steps Away. Both short films were screened at the SVA's  Undies Screening. 

    Outside of animation, Ying enjoys arranging flowers and keeping plants, as well as painting on glass bottles.
